Hyperscapes Golf Club, the world’s first membership golf club built around fully digital courses, today announced the signing of rising golf star Brandon Wu as a founding member and Hyperscapes’ first touring professional. As part of this groundbreaking partnership, Brandon Wu will represent Hyperscapes throughout his globe-trotting DP World Tour season, becoming the first world-class player with a digital club attachment.
PGA Tour professional and past winner of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, Brandon Wu brings a distinctly global perspective to the partnership. His team-first mindset was forged at Stanford University, where he studied product design. In a scene that’s become part of his legend, he missed his graduation to compete in the final round of the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. In a perfect metaphor of his commitment to education and sport, he received his diploma on the 18th green.
“It just fits,” said Brandon Wu. “I’ve always loved team golf, and Hyperscapes is the most interesting team I’ve ever joined. What’s happening here feels different. I’m excited to contribute to it, test the course, and be part of where the game is headed.”
Brandon Wu will help play-test Hyperscapes’ initial digital course designed by Nicklaus Design. He’ll compete in simulator-based Pro-Am tournaments on the course, helping shape the club’s early member experience, and will carry the Hyperscapes logo on his bag to tournaments around the world.
“This is a defining moment for Hyperscapes as we are growing our tech-savvy community,” said Gabor Tankovics, CEO and co-founder at Hyperscapes Golf Club. “Brandon is the kind of player who gets what we’re building. He’s international. He’s serious about technology and product design. He’s bringing our club’s identity to the professional game.”
Hyperscapes’ initial digital course is crafted by Nicklaus Design’s Chad Goetz on a rugged Scottish landscape within a virtually rewilded Caledonian forest from 6,000 years ago. A world’s first where the most respected name in golf architecture custom-designs a digital course for simulator play.
Fittingly, Brandon Wu’s first tournament repping the Hyperscapes logo on his bag will be held precisely in Scotland, at the DP World Tour Nexo Championship kicking off on August 7th at Trump International Scotland.
