The Earl Grey Golf Club Members in Canada, in partnership with TaylorMade Golf Company, have launched an inspiring initiative to support underprivileged youth golfers at the AFRIYEA Golf Academy in Uganda. The Global Golf Box Initiative is designed to empower the present and future generation of golfers from underserved communities, providing them with the tools they need to take their game to a different level and also be provided with the necessary skills and exposure to the world.

Phase one of the Global Golf Box initiative aims to support 29 of AFRIYEA Golf Academy ’s top-tier junior golfers from disadvantaged backgrounds by the . By providing high-performance apparel and equipment, the program is helping these talented young players take meaningful steps toward achieving their dreams. Each golf box, which costs $175 (including shipping), directly contributes to equipping these juniors with world-class gear, ensuring they can compete on a level playing field and unlock their potential.

Jennifer MacKinnon, the visionary behind this project, a passionate golfer, former collegiate competitor, and associate professional who has spent years advocating for inclusive and equitable opportunities in golf. After two years of meticulous planning alongside with AFRIYEA Golf Academy team in Uganda, Jennifer’s dream has come to fruition, creating a profound social impact for the AFRIYEA Golf Academy and its promising young players. Speaking about the initiative, she said:

“Golf has the power to unite people and create opportunities where there were none before. The Global Golf Box Initiative is about giving these talented young players the tools they need to succeed and showing them that the world believes in their potential.” – Jennifer MacKinnon.

Their generous support will have a lasting impact on our youth programs across the communities we work with in Uganda, empowering our children both on and off the course.
