Tell us about PGA TOUR 2K23 and what it has to offer?

PGA TOUR 2K23, our latest entry in the golf simulation video game franchise, features authentic playable pros, licensed and community-created courses, Topgolf Mode and iconic cover athlete Tiger Woods.

What challenges do you/2K face when developing these golf games?

It’s exciting to brainstorm how to enhance the overall gameplay experience for each entry. For example, when developing the game, a major priority was to make PGA TOUR 2K23 all about playing your way.

Regarding gameplay, raising the level of customization and personalization was one of the biggest improvements we made. To start, we gave players two swing options – the new three-click swing along with the returning analogue stick swing.

We’ve also reimagined the level of MyPLAYER customization to enable greater control over choosing your own playstyle. With five archetypes to pick from as a baseline, players will also get to evolve their MyPLAYERS with new Skill Points and Club Fittings as they progress.

What key developments have you made to your golf games over the years?

For the first time in PGA TOUR 2K, players can hit the course as male and female playable pros in online and local play. This includes the iconic Tiger Woods himself and even Michael Jordan and John Cena, or one of the franchise-first female pros, such as Lydia Ko, an addition our community has been requesting for a long time. With over 14 pros available in-game, delivering this popular feature was a major priority.

Another key development that we’re thrilled about is our partnerships. This year 2K partnered with Topgolf, a franchise first in PGA TOUR 2K. The mode features a true-to-life reproduction of the flagship Topgolf Las Vegas location and can be played with friend or solo. We love the partnership and how it deepens the level of true-to-life golf culture present in game.

How does PGA TOUR 2K23 differentiate itself from other competitors in this space?

As I previously mentioned, we’ve got several exciting features that set PGA TOUR 2K23 apart, including Topgolf, an exclusive partnership with Tiger Woods, unique playable golfers including Michael Jordan, Steph Curry, John Cena, the Barstool Sports crew and more. But perhaps our biggest differentiator that has given our game longevity and a strong sense of community is the Course Designer. Our players have designed thousands of amazing, custom courses using the same tools we use. The constant flow of new creations gives our game endless replay value and we have our community to thank for it.

How did your partnership with PGA originate and how has this grown?

We couldn’t ask for a greater partner in PGA TOUR. The ability to collaborate to best represent golf’s culture, including fashion, prestige, and attitude, as well as bringing icons like Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm as playable pros, is a dream come true.

Who might we expect to see featuring on your most recent PGA TOUR 2K23 game?

Of course, with our top pros like Matt Fitzpatrick and Brooke Henderson and NBA greats like Michael Jordan and Steph Curry, we’re proud of the roster. Recently, entertainment and WWE icon John Cena joined the roster, so stay tuned for more updates around other athletes and celebrities joining our roster!

What specific role does customer feedback play in your efforts?

A very important role! The PGA TOUR 2K community’s love of the game and feedback help shape our PGA TOUR 2K franchise for the better, and we work hard to ensure they have the best game experience.

Tell us more about PGA TOUR 2K’s plans on growth for the future?

Each game, we feature new additions and improvements to gameplay. For example, on June 7th, Clubhouse Pass Season 4 debuts, where players can experience Nelly Korda as a playable pro, earn new rewards from Titleist and FootJoy, compete in a limited-time Topgolf event and join the official 2K Red Jacket Society this summer.

We’re very excited for the PGA TOUR 2K franchise’s future and continued evolution!
