The Manor House Golf Club, one of Wiltshire’s premium golf venues, is reinvesting back into its golf course this winter as it moves ahead with several major improvement projects following a hugely successful year.
Owned and managed by Exclusive Collection, The Manor House is celebrating a fantastic and busy 2024 which has seen 80 new members join the club, and membership renewal hit an incredible 95 per cent.
With membership performing extremely well, The Manor House – where you can enjoy golf on another level – has invested back into several course improvement projects this winter, costing more than £75,000.
Already nearing completion, a further seven holes will join the club’s ongoing greenside irrigation programme, cutting down on the need for hand-watering by making water delivery more efficient and slashing wastage.
The club – set within 365 acres of picturesque rolling countryside on the southern edge of the Cotswolds – is accelerating with its major sustainable bunker renovation project that promises to elevate Clive Clark and Peter Alliss’ acclaimed course, while a woodland clearance project behind the 12th green aiming to encourage Hazel Dormice back onto the land is also underway.
All projects are being undertaken as part of the club’s commitment to sustainability across all areas of the estate. Earlier this year, the Wiltshire venue became one of a select group of UK golf clubs to achieve GEO Certification in recognition of its environmental efforts.
Golf club manager Andy Ryan said: “As golf continues to boom, we are delighted that so many of our members have chosen to renew their memberships for next year.
“This has been a very busy time for us, with so much going on both on and off the course, and we thank both our new and old members for the faith they have shown in the club to keep delivering the experiences we all want.
“We look forward to making our course even better and more sustainable over the coming year and beyond, and we intend to keep investing wherever possible to make further enhancements in future.”
It has been a memorable year for the Wiltshire venue. In June, the visit of the Clutch Pro Tour saw the par-72 course put players to the test across 54 holes, with Ryan Evans ultimately emerging victorious.
Also in June, the club held a Women’s Open Day with an action-packed schedule including coaching tips from PGA coach Louis Boston and access for women of all ages to the course and practice facilities.
Opening for play in 1992, The Manor House is part of the Exclusive Collection, a stellar line-up of hospitality venues across England. Alongside the course and other golf facilities, the estate is home to a luxury country hotel and the Michelin starred Bybrook restaurant.
