Part of the World Top 25 Golf Resort’s star-studded Culinary Calendar that marries championship golf with year-round epicurean experiences
Heritage Resorts & Golf, Mauritius, will host the fifth edition of Sustainable Gastronomy Week, a key event in its Culinary Calendar, that puts responsible, eco-conscious dining at the forefront of the luxury golf lifestyle.
Running from 5 to 10 October 2026, this year’s theme focuses on plant-based cuisine, slotting seamlessly into the curated series of epicurean experiences designed to transcend the traditional golf retreat at the Indian Ocean’s only 45-hole golf destination.
“Through our culinary calendar, we are creating far more than a series of events,” said Dominique Grel, General Manager of Heritage Le Telfair. “Every residency, every dinner, is designed as a genuine moment of sharing between chefs, producers, wine makers and guests, where excellence serves emotion and pleasure.
“Through our flagship Sustainable Gastronomy Week, we aim to create a true platform for exchange and knowledge-sharing, bringing together chefs, producers and food enthusiasts around a shared vision: imagining a more responsible cuisine without ever compromising on creativity and emotion.”
The 5th Sustainable Gastronomy Week – October 5-10, 2026
Heritage Resorts & Golf’s flagship event takes inspiration from the land, using plants as its primary theme across the World Top 25 Golf Resort’s dining venues. Utilising an 80/20 approach where animal proteins serve as subtle accents rather than main components, the week will feature 100% locally sourced tasting menus, foraging tours, interactive workshops, mixology competitions, and a dedicated conference on industry sustainability.
Internationally acclaimed chefs Thomas Benady (Auberge Sauvage, France) and Georgios Spandos (Epoca, Réunion Island) will head the jury panel for the week’s culinary competitions, bringing a wealth of eco-minded expertise to the event.

Year-round culinary excellence for golfers
A rich schedule of events elevates the traditional golfing retreat into a bespoke gastronomic journey, providing unique opportunities and enriching experiences for guests of Heritage Resorts & Golf.
Each month, renowned Michelin-starred chefs, distinguished winemakers, passionate artisans and emerging talents will bring Heritage Awali, Heritage Le Telfair and Le Château de Bel Ombre alive with culinary brilliance.
World-Class Golf Meets Sustainable Luxury
Located next to a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on the 2,500-hectare Bel Ombre estate, Heritage Resorts & Golf is home to Heritage Golf Club and its two distinct championship courses:
- La Réserve Golf Links: Co-designed by Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen, it is the Indian Ocean’s first and only contemporary links and currently ranked as the region’s No. 1 layout.
- Le Château Golf Course: the critically-acclaimed parkland course set in the lush natural landscape of the 19th century mansion house that bears its name.
Guests can pair their golf with stays at two luxury five-star beach resorts – Heritage Le Telfair and Heritage Awali – or the resort’s private luxury villas, alongside dining experiences in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
