Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve named Europe’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel in its first year, Hilton Vilamoura crowned Portugal’s Leading Family Resort and Best Incentive Hotel
Vilamoura’s reputation as one of Europe’s leading lifestyle destinations has been further strengthened following international recognition at the World Travel Awards 2026. Two properties managed by DETAILS – Hospitality, Sports & Leisure collected three titles between them as the winners were revealed at the World Travel Awards Europe Gala Ceremony on Saturday at Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort, Montenegro, where the Algarve was also named Europe’s Leading Beach Destination.
Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve was named Europe’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel 2026, a significant debut European title secured within its first year of operation. The newest addition to Vilamoura’s plethora of premium hotel offerings reopened in 2026 following the extensive transformation of the former Dom Pedro Vilamoura.

Redesigned with a palette drawn from the Algarve’s landscape, its 257 rooms and suites sit moments from Vilamoura Marina and Praia da Falésia, allowing guests to move between Brasa Coastal Steakhouse, the Terrace Pool Bar and Lume Lounge Bar. Padel and pickleball courts and outdoor yoga are available, as well as easy access to five nearby championship golf courses.
Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa received two national honours. In the MICE category, it was named Portugal’s Best Incentive Hotel 2026, recognising its appeal for companies rewarding teams and clients with time in the Algarve. It was also voted Portugal’s Leading Family Resort 2026, reflecting a resort set across five acres of landscaped gardens possessing the nation’s largest spa, six outdoor pools, 176 rooms and suites and a setting beside Pinhal Vilamoura golf course.

The double adds to yet another strong year for Hilton Vilamoura, having been named Wellness & Spa Hotel of the Year at the European Hotel Awards in September.
For Vilamoura, the results reflect a destination broadening its appeal well beyond the summer months. Continued investment across the resort under DETAILS’ management is shaping a year-round place to visit and to live, from family holidays and incentive trips to wellness breaks and sporting events.
Alongside the beaches behind the Algarve’s European title and five championship golf courses, the area is home to an award-winning marina, named Superyacht Marina of the Year 2025 by The Yacht Harbour Association. The region also hosted Europe’s first ever PGA TOUR Champions event in July, with Zach Johnson claiming the inaugural Portugal Invitational title at the Els Club Vilamoura, while development is also under way on what will be Portugal’s largest equestrian centre.
Francisco Moser, Co-CEO of DETAILS – Hospitality, Sports & Leisure, said: “These awards demonstrate how Vilamoura has evolved into a truly multi-dimensional destination. While golf remains a cornerstone of its appeal, growing recognition for our hotels and the wider Algarve reflects the quality and diversity of experiences available to visitors today.
“We are committed to building a destination that people choose to visit, return to and ultimately become part of. Recognition such as this confirms we are moving in the right direction, while also motivating us to continue raising the bar across every aspect of the Vilamoura experience.”
