Spain’s No. 1 golf resort upgrades Stadium and Tour Courses Switching entirely to warm season Bermuda grass will reduce water consumption by 33%.
New VIP packages available at home of 2031 Ryder Cup.
Camiral, Spain’s No.1 golf resort and venue of The 2031 Ryder Cup, is investing €7 million to upgrade its two courses and launch new VIP packages and experiences for international golf travellers.
The 36-hole European Tour Destination, an hour north of Barcelona, has already completed bunker renovation and drainage work on its acclaimed Stadium Course and Tour Course, both of which are rated among the top 10 golf courses in Spain.
Now, both courses will switch entirely to warm season Bermuda grass, maintaining world-class playing conditions while reducing water consumption by 33%.
Director of Golf Flavio Papa said: “As a future Ryder Cup venue, our objective is to continually elevate the experience for all of our customers.
“The change to warm season Bermuda grass is especially important. Not only will we be able to present our courses to tournament quality standards all year round, it will help us achieve sustainability objectives at the heart of our business.”
As part of the investment programme, new machinery and technology will be deployed across both courses, with new hires expanding the greenkeeping team from 35 to 50.
Off-course, a new golf customer services manager has been appointed to elevate day-to-day golfer experiences and support new VIP packages.
Flavio Pappa added: “We are already seeing an increase in bookings from international golf travellers, including guests from the United States.
“With the addition of personalised services and VIP packages, our guests can expect a seamless experience between our five-star Hotel Camiral and our golf clubhouse and courses.”
During the works, one golf course will remain open throughout. All course upgrades will be completed in September 2026.
