With Europe clinching a dramatic Ryder Cup victory at Bethpage Black, the spotlight now shifts to Ireland, which will host the historic centenary edition of the Ryder Cup at the stunning Adare Manor in County Limerick in 2027.

Team Europe stars Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy played pivotal roles in New York, with Lowry delivering the decisive half point that ensured Europe retained the coveted trophy in front of packed galleries.

All eyes now turn to Ireland as the countdown begins for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, where golf’s greatest team event will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Ireland’s Ryder Cup roots run strong, with Padraig Harrington, Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke among recent captains, having also provided unforgettable moments such as McGinley holing the winning putt in 2002 and Clarke’s performance at the K Club in 2006, when Ireland last hosted the event.

The Island of Ireland is no stranger to hosting world-class golf tournaments, having recently staged the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush in July to global acclaim. And as momentum builds, 2026 will see the DP World Tour Amgen Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at the K Club in County Kildare and the prestigious Walker Cup at Lahinch Golf Club.

With more than 400 courses, and one third of the world’s natural links courses – including the top tier Ballybunion, Ballyliffin and Royal County Down – the island of Ireland is firmly established as a premium golf tournament and leisure destination.

The 2027 Ryder Cup will be more than just a golf tournament – it’s a chance to showcase Ireland’s rich championship pedigree, vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality. From the Wild Atlantic Way to Ireland’s Ancient East, the island offers more than 18 holes of golf – think incredible dining, lively cities, unique experiences and, of course, the famous 19th hole where golfers can unwind and soak in the welcoming spirit.

Siobhan McManamy, Tourism Ireland’s director of markets & partnerships, said: “Ireland couldn’t be more proud to have the Ryder Cup coming to its shores in 2027. The stunning setting of one of our most beautiful manor house hotels, together with the passion of the fans, makes Adare Manor a truly superb venue to showcase our golf and Ireland.

“Adare, County Limerick, is the gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way – a stunning 2,500-kilometre coastal route from Malin Head to Kinsale, offering visitors breathtaking scenery and rich culture. With direct flights from many US, GB and European cities into Dublin and regional airports including Shannon, Cork, and Ireland West Airport Knock, getting to Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way has never been easier. We look forward to welcoming golf fans from around the world to the island of Ireland.”
