In our last piece, we introduced Club Caddie’s bold approach to modernizing food and beverage operations across golf clubs. Now, we’re going behind the scenes — exploring how the idea for their new mobile app took shape, what challenges the team faced during development and the thoughtful additions that set this solution apart in the marketplace.
SH: From Clover to Custom: Evolving for Full-Service Excellence
Club Caddie’s original mobile tool, built around the Clover Flex, delivered a solid F&B solution for beverage carts and mobile ordering. But as more clubs began to lean into full-service dining, the team recognized an opportunity to evolve. Operators wanted more control — from intuitive table layouts to quicker order entry — and Club Caddie set out to deliver exactly that.
Rather than layering features onto the existing system, Club Caddie chose to return to the drawing board. What if they could give golf courses the same intuitive, efficient tools used almost exclusively in the restaurant industry — but tailor them to the unique needs of a golf club? The result is a fully custom iOS and Android app purpose-built for tableside service at golf clubs.

SH: Built in House, Tested with Real Clients
Of course, an undertaking like this one doesn’t come without obstacles. One of the biggest early hurdles was working with the Clover Go — Club Caddie’s first Bluetooth-enabled credit card device.
Alpha testing began with a select group of clubs located near Club Caddie’s development team. This allowed for in-person setup, server training and clear feedback. After the initial testing period, a hand-picked Beta group of 10 operators will stress-test the system before full rollout.
SH: Small Details with Big Impact
When it comes to tailoring F&B software to golf clubs specifically, it’s the little things that count.
For example, modifiers (like adding bacon to a burger) now display directly under the item in a horizontal layout. This small shift means fewer scrolls, faster order reviews and less frequent user errors. Similarly, all active tabs — across tables, the bar and servers — appear in one easy-to-navigate section.
Perhaps most exciting is what’s to come: smarter kitchen communication. Orders sent to the KDS (kitchen display system) will ping servers when items are ready, eliminating back-and-forth runs. Future updates may even include direct messaging from front-of-house to kitchen staff, keeping everything running smoothly in real time.
SH: Raising the Bar on Golf Club Dining
In an industry where F&B tools are often built as general solutions, Club Caddie is taking a more intentional path — enhancing functionality, streamlining service and building tools that reflect the real needs of course operators.
With Alpha testing underway and a broader rollout on the horizon, this next-gen app is a reflection of Club Caddie’s ongoing commitment to improving the way golf clubs serve their members and run their businesses.
Stay tuned. A new era of golf club dining and service is already in motion.
