Golfzon Leadbetter, a global leader in golf instruction, proudly announces the official opening of the Golfzon Leadbetter Academy at Five Forts Golf Club, located at The St. Regis Bermuda Resort. This world-class facility, led by Bermudian golfer, Quinton Sherlock brings elite-level golf training to the island, offering unparalleled opportunities for local golfers — while also positioning Bermuda as a premium golf instruction destination for tourists.
This is the first internationally recognized golf academy to open in Bermuda and marks a significant milestone in the island’s sporting and tourism landscape. The academy will serve as a center of excellence for golf development, with a special focus on nurturing young talent and creating a clear pathway for Bermudian juniors to earn golf scholarships and compete in collegiate programs in the United States.
“This is a pivotal moment for golf in Bermuda,” said Quinton Sherlock, Bermudian golf professional and youth development leader. “For years, we’ve had talented players but limited access to elite instruction and pathways to college scholarships. The Golfzon Leadbetter Academy fills that gap and gives more kids a chance to learn golf and dream about competing at the highest levels.”
The academy’s golf programs include year-round coaching, tournament support, academic guidance, and college recruitment mentoring — all designed to prepare Bermuda’s next generation of golfers for international competition and academic success.
“Our mission is two-fold,” said Benedict Riches, CEO of Golfzon Leadbetter. “We’re here to support and grow local talent with the same training methods we use for Tour players and top amateurs worldwide. At the same time, we want to welcome visiting golfers from around the world who are seeking the best instruction in one of the most beautiful settings on Earth. Quinton is a shining-light within our company and joins our network of highly-trained instructors who have dedicated their lives to helping golfers.”
The academy will offer customized instruction for visiting golfers of all skill levels — from beginners to elite players. Instructional stay-and-play packages will be available through the St. Regis Bermuda Resort, offering a complete luxury golf experience.
“This partnership is more than just a golf academy — it’s a catalyst for opportunity,” said Leslie Prea, General Manager for The St Regis Bermuda Resort. “We’re proud our golf club can provide local golfers, and especially young players, with access to world-class training programs. And for international guests, it’s a chance to receive elite-level instruction while enjoying the elegance and serenity of Bermuda.”
The Golfzon Leadbetter Academy Bermuda was officially inaugurated on May 28, 2025, with an elegant ceremony held on the 18th hole, set against a stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and Fort St. Catherine.
