Children from the Stephen Gallacher Foundation took part in the first DP World Tour OCEANTEE Sustainability Series at the Genesis Scottish Open

The Marine Conservation Society delivered an education session before heading to the beach parallel to the 13th hole at The Renaissance Club to conduct an analysis of the shoreline waste. The data collated from the beach clean will be added to a national database that helps the charity understand ocean pollution.

Amongst those taking part in the beach clean were OCEANTEE Founder Ed Sandison, DP World Tour player and former Ryder Cup star Stephen Gallacher, PGA Tour player Mackenzie Hughes, OCEANTEE Ambassador Inci Mehmet and the DP World Tour’s Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Maria Grandinetti Milton.

This was the first in a series of five sustainability activations that OCEANTEE will deliver at DP World Tour tournaments in the coming year.

Ed Sandison commented, “This has been a fantastic day. Collecting data, like the children and players have today, is an essential part of the work that the Marine Conservation Society carries out. We all need to understand the impact that our lives have on the ocean and I am delighted that through our partnership with the DP World Tour we are able to raise awareness of the important work this amazing charity does around the country.”
