Raised in Laguna Niguel, California, entrepreneur Brian Verdugo showed an early interest in mechanics, aviation, and technology—a passion that carried into his time at San Diego State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, while launching some of his first tech ventures.
Best-known today as the founder and CEO of iGolf, Verdugo helped pioneer consumer GPS technology for the golf industry in the early 2000s.
Outside of his role at iGolf, Verdugo is also the founder of SyncWise—a wireless control systems company focused on electric and autonomous vehicles—as well as founder of Location Capital.
A licensed private pilot for over 15 years, Verdugo balances his tech leadership with his personal pursuits—ranging from flying, boating, skiing and golfing—to co-owning Quartet Vineyards in Napa Valley.
Verdugo has also been active in philanthropy, including serving as event co-chair for the American Cancer Society’s Discovery Gala in San Diego, and he is a strong advocate for integrating modern technology into traditional sports without losing touch with their core values.
Verdugo’s forward-looking work in autonomous systems—ranging from low-speed EV platforms to course-optimizing tools like GPS mapping, drones, and terrain sensors—reflects a broader commitment to sustainability, efficiency, and thoughtful innovation across both sport and smart mobility.
