Leading golf and hospitality platform recognised for outstanding performance across its Portuguese venues.
Details – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure has cemented its position at the forefront of European golf after celebrating a memorable evening of success at the prestigious 59club Europe Service Excellence Awards.
The leading golf and hospitality platform and the largest golf course management company in Portugal, owned by Arrow Global, was one of the standout winners at the awards ceremony in France after its venues were recognised with a series of leading honours, including the Old Course Vilamoura winning the coveted accolade of Golf Operations Team of the Year.
Taking place at Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort from March 5-6, the 59club Europe Service Excellence Awards brought together many of Europe’s leading golf and hospitality venues to celebrate outstanding elite performance across the industry.
Recognised as one of the most prestigious accolades in the sector, 59club’s awards are presented across three European divisions – Europe South, Europe West & North Africa and Nordic & Central. Determined through impartial mystery shopping audits throughout the year, they evaluate real customer experiences against a detailed set of benchmarking criteria and acknowledge excellence in service, operations and customer experience.
Highlighting the exceptional first-class experience that it delivers to members and visiting golfers, the team at the Old Course Vilamoura enjoyed an evening to remember after winning an array of leading individual and team accolades in the Europe South region.
As well as receiving the prestigious European Golf Operations Team of the Year award – one of the five major European titles – the iconic Algarve venue claimed the same award in the Europe South region in recognition of exceptional teamwork and service delivery.
João Goulão beat off strong competition to win the leading accolade of Greenkeeper of the Year while there was further individual success for the Old Course Vilamoura with Ana Rita winning the prized award of Golf Retail Manager of the Year, sharing the honour with Antonia Christopoulou from Costa Navarino.
Palmares Ocean Living & Golf was recognised for the significant progress it has made to deliver an enhanced customer experience to its golf members and guests by being named Most Improved Venue – Europe South, while several DETAILS-managed venues were recognised with 59club’s respected Flag Designations, which highlight facilities delivering exceptional standards of service and overall guest experience.
Old Course Vilamoura received the coveted Gold Flag Designation, reserved for venues demonstrating elite performance across service, operations and customer satisfaction. Elsewhere within the Vilamoura portfolio, Laguna Vilamoura, Millennium Vilamoura and Pinhal Vilamoura were each awarded Silver Flag Designations while Palmares received a Bronze Flag Designation.
