100 female golfers compete over Ernie Els Signature Design Ocean Course
The Els Club Desaru Coast welcomed 100 female golfers for the second Els Club Ladies Open 2026, with 12-year-old Avelyn Tan Wen Xin becoming the youngest-ever tournament winner over the Ernie Els Signature Design Ocean Course.
Avelyn’s gross 78 was the standout performance as she became the youngest golfer to win any of the amateur events at the acclaimed Malaysian club, managed by Troon International, highlighting the growing potential of junior players in the sport.
Els Club Ladies Open featured golfers from across Malaysia and Singapore, reinforcing The Els Club Desaru Coast’s position as a premier destination for women’s golf. Held on the breathtaking Ernie Els Signature Design Ocean Course, players were treated to stunning coastal views and world-class playing conditions in competing for both gross and net titles.
With Avelyn Tan Wen Xin taking the gross title, the net category was won by Suhaila Ramli with a winning score of 67.
