PLATFORM Golf, a leader in golf technology whose immersive, performance-driven products bring real-world slope, lie, and putting conditions into the simulator golf experience, will enhance analysis of The 153rd Open Championship this week at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland with a custom version of its TrueSlope™ product in use at the Open Zone.

Installed in a dedicated area on the driving range that has long been the hub for showcasing innovation at The Open, the area is used to provide live analysis, interviews, and demonstrations, particularly focusing on player swings and techniques. This year, presenters will use TrueSlope™ to break down the game with unprecedented realism – capturing the slopes, lies, and putting conditions of Royal Portrush.

As shots are struck, viewers at home will be able to see a simulated version of the course on their screens, with graphics and ball tracking provided by TruGolf and Science & Motion, to help visualise how a shot might play out in competition. This provides the broadcast team the unique ability to recreate course conditions for a first-of-its-kind viewer experience.

Thomas Hackett, co-founder and chief executive officer of PLATFORM Golf, said: “We developed TrueSlope™ as the ultimate solution to enhance the realism of golf simulators by mimicking real-world lies for full-swing shots, while also providing a putting experience that replicates sloping greens.

“This project sets a new benchmark for golf broadcasts and we’re proud to contribute to pushing boundaries in the way fans engage with The Open.”

As an Irishman, Rory Flanagan, co-founder and chief commercial officer, expressed personal pride in launching this activation on the island of Ireland. He said: “To see this vision come to life at Royal Portrush is a testament to the dedication and brilliance of our team, and the shared ambition to push golf technology forward.”

PLATFORM Golf’s patented products seamlessly integrate with leading simulator technologies, precisely replicating the authentic conditions golfers encounter on course. With installations and partnerships spanning top universities, private clubs, retailers, and ambassador locations worldwide, the company continues to lead the evolution of training in golf’s off-course era. Most recently, it completed state-of-the-art installs at Precision Golf outside of London and Yas Links in Abu Dhabi.

Additionally, its roster of ambassadors includes a star-studded lineup of world-class instructors including Claude Harmon III, Stephen Sweeney,  Brad Faxon, Erika Larkin, Darren May and more.
